Well this is novel.

Burning a DVD 📀

Can't remember the last time we did that.
Certainly there's not many on the spindle left, but can't see us needing to buy more at the current rate of usage :blobcat_googly:

@coth
I still use them, and Blu-rays, for archive backups. I don't burn discs as much as I use to, but, still have the need.

@fitheach
We used to backup on DVD, but switched to hot swap removable discs rsynced across devices as it's cheap enough to just plug in a new drive every couple of years in ever increasing sizes.

We still have the DVDS and for that matter tapes in a drawer, with older backups. 🤷‍♀️

@coth @fitheach
Me too. I have a NAS with a 2Tb RAID, and 2TB USB3 drives on the 2 most important PCs, which I take with me if we are ever away.
You can never have too many backups.

@coth "This", I once thought to myself, "will be the end of my spindles of CD-Rs, with so much more storage per disc!"

Aha. ^_^;

Personal instance for the 5 of us that form our plural system: Analyst Artist Dark Engineer Navigator We all post under COTH at the moment, but we may expand that to individual accounts for each if it works later.
